Role Description The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Katy, TX. This role is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and acquiring pre-owned vehicles for dealership inventory through various channels, including customer outreach, online platforms, auctions, and local market opportunities. Daily activities include evaluating vehicle condition and market value, reviewing vehicle history reports, and negotiating fair purchase prices that align with dealership standards and profitability goals. The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist collaborates closely with sales, appraisers, and management to ensure a balanced and appealing inventory mix, while maintaining accurate records of acquisition activities and documentation. The role also involves providing a professional, customer-focused experience when working with individuals interested in selling or trading in their vehicles.
Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive purchasing, appraising, or inventory management, with strong ability to assess vehicle condition and market value.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and sales techniques to secure vehicle purchases and build trust with customers and vendors.
  • Comfort using dealership management systems, online listing platforms, and basic office software for research and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with sales teams, management, and external partners.
  • High attention to detail, reliability in handling documentation, and ability to follow established processes and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work on-site in Katy, TX, including flexible hours that may include evenings or weekends as business needs require.
  • Prior experience in retail automotive or a related field is preferred; a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in automotive or business disciplines are a plus.
