Position Summary

The Strategic Buyer is responsible for supplier development, strategic sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, and commercial negotiations with global suppliers and, when required, subcontractors.

In this role, the Strategic Buyer serves as the company's primary interface with external suppliers while acting as a key internal knowledge resource.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the procurement of metal components (including fasteners), seals, foam, rubber, and other technical commodities.
  • Lead the sourcing and purchasing of metal molds for plastic injection molding.
  • Monitor global inventory levels, consumption trends, and supplier pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team on inventory planning, scheduling, and stock optimization.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard new suppliers in Israel and internationally.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers.
  • Conduct market research, benchmark costs, and lead commercial negotiations with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Continuously monitor supplier performance, pricing, and market trends.
  • Serve as the company's cost estimation expert for customer RFQs and development projects.
  • Lead procurement activities for new product development and ongoing operational projects.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics, and Marketing to support business objectives.
  • Support supplier troubleshooting and drive corrective actions when required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Practical Engineering diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field – an advantage.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical procurement or strategic sourcing – required.
  • Proven experience in global purchasing and supplier management – required.
  • Experience sourcing metals, raw materials, or technical components – a significant advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment – an advantage.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) – required.
