Job Description
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Road Freight Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. This position involves generating leads, conducting market research, and developing strategies to expand our road freight services. Responsibilities include building strong relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering high-quality customer service to support long-term growth and client retention. Collaboration with internal teams to meet organizational objectives is also expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in road freight and cross-border logistics
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Prepare and present competitive freight quotations and solutions
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Meet and exceed sales targets and contribute to company growth
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years Road Freight experience, with SADC cross-border experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred
- Proven track record in business development and client acquisition
- Strong understanding of cross-border road freight within Southern Africa
- Strong Analytical Skills for evaluating logistics solutions and market trends
- Effective Communication and Customer Service skills to build and maintain client relationships
- Lead Generation and Market Research skills to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Ability to work independently and in a team within a dynamic, fast-paced environment
