Role Description The Service Advisor role is a full-time, on-site position based at Hartwell Automotive Group in Abingdon-On-Thames. The Service Advisor will be responsible for welcoming customers to the service department, understanding their vehicle concerns, and booking service and repair work. This role includes preparing job cards, liaising with technicians, providing clear updates on progress, and explaining work carried out and associated costs. The Service Advisor will coordinate aftersales services, handle inquiries by phone, email, and in person, and ensure a smooth and professional customer experience throughout the service journey. The position also involves managing appointments, processing payments, supporting warranty and service plan administration, and contributing to service department targets and customer satisfaction goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-focused service skills, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and professional customer service.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information in clear, accessible language.
  • Experience or understanding of aftersales processes within an automotive or similar service environment.
  • Ability to manage bookings, schedules, and administrative tasks with good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, including use of dealership or service management systems and standard office software.
  • Previous experience in a service advisor, customer-facing automotive, or related role is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance or repair processes is an advantage, though technical qualifications are not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, remain calm under pressure, and deliver a positive experience to every customer.
