What To Expect
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer who will be working on physics modeling and simulations of complex mechanical systems.
What You'll Do
Develop advanced MATLAB functions to model powertrain components.
Evaluate durability, lifetime and predict failure by applying mechanics fundamentals.
Conduct linear / nonlinear CAE structural analysis, for electromechanical actuator systems and structures, gaining experience in the design process of next-gen Tesla products.
System modeling of automotive and/or industrial thermal systems, by analyzing key system performance metrics, targeting optimal component selection and integration.
Contribute to the suite of Tesla’s in-house modeling tools by developing fast and scalable workflows.
Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams targeting system level optimization.
What You'll Bring
Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
Demonstrated experience in computational methods for structural, thermal and multiphysics systems.
Strong skills in calculation of components / component optimization / DoE using FEA.
Strong MATLAB programming skills.
Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
Experience with commercial FEA software (Ansys, Abaqus, Altair).
Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail and self-direction.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
English fluently in speaking, reading and writing.
