Role Description

The Manager of Luxury and Exotic Car Acquisitions will oversee the sourcing, evaluating, and procuring of premium and exotic vehicles to optimize Motorenn’s inventory. Responsibilities include building strong relationships with dealers, auction houses, and private sellers to acquire high-demand inventory, as well as utilizing data to assess market trends and pricing strategies. The manager will also be tasked with negotiating purchase terms, ensuring vehicles meet detailed quality standards, and collaborating with other teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

The role comprises three key functions that require mastery:

  • Vehicle pricing analysis – quickly and accurately evaluate and price potential acquisitions and trade-ins
  • Vehicle sourcing – independently source consignments and acquisitions
  • Vehicle acquisitions – physically evaluate vehicles, whether at Motorenn or at client property, negotiate and execute on a deal, and actually pay for/acquire target vehicles

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the luxury and exotic car market, including brands, models, and industry trends
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in market analysis, pricing strategy, and data-driven decision-making
  • Attention to detail in screening vehicle history, quality assessments, and conducting inspections
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and vendor interactions
  • Experience in automotive acquisitions, sales, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in management consulting is also acceptable
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and align with company values of trust, efficiency, and excellence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other analytical field

Requirements and Compensation – Full Capability Experienced Candidate

  • Rapid ability to bring in 1-2 exotic car consignments per week and demonstrated strategic thinking to run campaigns to increase that volume
  • Extensive detailed exotic car knowledge to rival current management team's car knowledge
  • Demonstrated mechanical experience and experience (or rapid ability to learn) inspecting cars for physical and mechanical issues accurately along with capability to properly account for costs – paint, codes, odometer rollback, etc
  • High familiarity with Excel and analytics to conduct detailed auction buying strategies
  • Demonstrated knowledge (or rapid ability to learn) of CA vehicle acquisition paperwork requirements
  • Demonstrated capability to converse with high net worth clients and build relationships that evolve into consignment or acquisitions opportunities
  • Likely aptitude to manage a team (in the future)
  • Compensation would start at a base of $120,000 per year with 50% target bonus ($160,000 – $200,000 range). Compensation targeted to increase to $200,000+ after 1 year with continued high level performance and as the role grows to a more managerial position with direct reports.
