Purpose Of The Job:
An exciting opportunity is available with a well-established leader in the Independent Automotive Aftermarket for an experienced Product Manager / Demand Planner. This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing product management, procurement, supplier relations, and demand planning responsibilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in driving category growth, improving stock availability, enhancing supplier performance, and supporting overall profitability through effective planning and market-focused decision-making. You will also contribute to the optimisation of ERP systems and planning tools in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
Demand Planning & Procurement
- Manage the integration and alignment between the ERP system and Demand Planning platform
- Review forecast-driven order recommendations and validate stock requirements
- Generate and manage Purchase Orders while monitoring supplier delivery performance
- Investigate forecasting discrepancies and lost sales trends to improve replenishment accuracy
- Assess supply chain and planning efficiencies, recommending improvements where required
Product & Category Management
- Maintain and enhance product ranges in line with customer demand and market trends
- Identify opportunities for new products and category expansion, preparing supporting business cases
- Conduct competitor and industry analysis to ensure the business remains competitively positioned
- Ensure all products comply with required specifications and relevant Consumer Protection legislation
Inventory & Commercial Performance
- Monitor stockholding, product movement and overall inventory performance
- Implement strategies to reduce slow-moving, excess or obsolete stock
- Analyse sales trends, profitability, margins and market share performance
- Maintain competitive pricing structures aligned with business margin objectives
Supplier & Internal Relationship Management
- Build and strengthen long-term supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing structures, rebates, payment terms and trading agreements
- Evaluate supplier performance against agreed service levels and quality expectations
- Work closely with sales, marketing and branch teams to support category success and growth initiatives
Marketing & Sales Enablement
- Assist with product launches, promotions and category marketing initiatives
- Evaluate marketing effectiveness and support sales growth strategies
- Provide product training, market insights and sales support tools to internal stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce or a related discipline in the Automotive Industry
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Product Management, Procurement or Demand Planning
- Strong ERP systems experience with advanced Excel proficiency
- Solid analytical, commercial and financial acumen
- Proven supplier negotiation and supplier management experience
- Previous Automotive Aftermarket exposure will be highly advantageous
- Motor Industry experience Essential!
