PURPOSE
The Aftermarket Trainer is responsible for delivers training directly in the operational environment (e.g., workshops, service centers, customer sites, or sales locations). The role focuses on practical, on-the-job learning and performance improvement.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Training Delivery (On-Site)
- Conduct training sessions in real work environments
- Demonstrate tools, equipment, processes, or systems
- Provide step-by-step, hands-on instruction
2. Practical Skill Development
- Coach trainees while they perform actual tasks
- Ensure trainees can apply knowledge in real situations
- Bridge the gap between theory and practice
3. Customer & Partner Support
- Train customers, dealers, or service partners
- Ensure correct product usage, maintenance, or repair
- Support onboarding of new partners or technicians
4. Troubleshooting & Technical Guidance (hot line)
- Assist field teams with complex issues
- Provide immediate support during critical situations
- Share best practices based on real-world experience
- Operate the technical hotline
5. Feedback & Continuous Improvement
- Collect feedback from trainees and field teams
- Identify skill gaps or recurring issues
- Recommend improvements to training programs and materials
6. Standardization & Quality Assurance
- Ensure procedures are followed correctly in the field
- Promote company standards, safety, and quality practices
- Align field execution with corporate guidelines
7. Reporting & Communication
- Report training activities and results
- Communicate field insights to training managers or HQ
- Support updates of training content based on field reality
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred in Engineering, Quality, Sales, Product Planning, Training, or a combination of the three or as Automotive mechanics.
- Education: Bachelor’s / high school degree in mechanic field.
- ISO/TS-16949 or QS-9000 knowledge and experience
- Fluent in (speaking and writing) :
- Mandatory: English and German
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively engage both small and large audiences.
- High level of manual dexterity.
- Proven ability to integrate a broad portfolio of Aftermarket products into cohesive and customer-focused training presentations.
- Demonstrated capability to identify emerging training needs and proactively develop relevant learning materials.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated collaboration and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, customer-focused communication style with strong written and verbal skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicting interests.
- Proven track record of effective team collaboration.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50–75%.
- Adaptability and cultural awareness.
