Role Description The VP Mergers and Acquisitions is a full-time, hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This position is responsible for leading the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, including strategic target identification, valuation analysis, due diligence oversight, deal structuring, negotiation, and integration planning. The role collaborates closely with executive leadership, finance, legal, and operational teams to align transactions with the company’s growth strategy and financial objectives. Day-to-day activities include building and maintaining a pipeline of potential acquisitions, preparing investment cases and board materials, managing external advisors, and tracking post-close performance against deal assumptions. The VP will also contribute to broader corporate strategy initiatives, market assessments, and competitive intelligence to inform long-term expansion plans.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in mergers and acquisitions, including target sourcing, financial modeling, valuation, and transaction execution.
- Experience managing due diligence processes across finance, legal, operations, and commercial functions, ideally within manufacturing or automotive sectors.
- Strong strategic planning and corporate development skills, with a track record of identifying growth opportunities and integrating acquired businesses.
- Advanced financial acumen, including proficiency in analyzing financial statements, forecasting, and assessing investment returns and risks.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to executive teams and boards.
- Leadership experience overseeing cross-functional teams, influencing senior decision-makers, and driving accountability for deal outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in the automotive, industrial, or manufacturing industry and familiarity with the aftermarket environment strongly beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Phoenix, AZ, including periodic travel for site visits, due diligence, and integration activities.
