Volvo Cars Honolulu is now hiring for a Service Consultant.
The Service Consultant takes care of the customer during the process of the repair. The consultant helps determine, isolate, and record the problem(s) with the customer’s vehicle.

The Service Consultant position’s pay compensation is a monthly salary range of $2,800.00-$6,000.00, plus commissions, based on experience. Workdays may include working alternate Saturdays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rating up to manufacturer, region, and national standards.
- Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problem(s).
- Advise customers on the care of their vehicle and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
- If additional work is needed, explain the details, additional costs, and time considerations to the customer.
- Follow up on the progress of each repair order daily, communicate to the customer any changes to the estimate or time promised for the repairs, and record the changes to the repair order.
- Perform walk-around inspections on vehicle at write-up, when service is complete, and after final wash for any damages.
- Keep Quick Pricing Guide, Signals Checklist, Maintenance Menus, and other service department forms up to date.
- Perform all duties within required time limits and be responsible for any special-order parts that are submitted for the repair order.
- Follow procedures for quick and efficient handling of warranty items, including tagging and proper storage of these items.
- Work with the parts department to order and confirm the correct part numbers on repair orders.
- Assign jobs to technicians based on skill level and current resource utilization.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Adhere strictly to all company rules, policies, and procedures.
- Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Schedule service appointments, review works-in-progress, make estimates for repairs, and perform cashier functions if necessary.
- Assist with handling customer complaints and or misunderstandings with courtesy, tact and in a manner that is consistent with company policies and goals.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of customer’s personal information in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Safeguards Rule, implementing the provisions of the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act as they pertain to automobile dealerships.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
- Must have at least 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sales experience preferred.
- General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
- One year experience in sales or front-line customer service position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a current driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle abstract.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
Pay: $2,800.00 – $6,000.00 per month
