Role Description The Vehicle Reconditioning team member is responsible for preparing vehicles for frontline display by performing high-quality cosmetic and minor repair work on-site in the Eastern Region. This full-time role includes tasks such as exterior detailing, interior cleaning, minor paint and body repair, wheel refinishing, windshield chip repair, and application of protective products like PPF, ceramic coating, and window tint, depending on assignment and skill set. The role involves inspecting vehicles to identify required reconditioning work, following standardized processes and quality guidelines, and documenting work performed in accordance with dealership and company procedures. Team members collaborate with service advisors, dealership staff, and other technicians to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the recon process. Consistent, safe work practices and adherence to company standards are central to this position.
Qualifications
- Hands-on skills in vehicle appearance and repair, such as detailing, minor paint and body work, and basic wheel repair.
- Experience or aptitude in specialty services like PDR, windshield repair, PPF, ceramic coating, window tint, or interior reconditioning.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow standardized processes, and commitment to delivering consistent quality work.
- Capability to work on-site in a fast-paced dealership environment, manage time effectively, and handle multiple vehicles in a daily workflow.
- Basic mechanical understanding, familiarity with automotive tools and materials, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with dealership staff and team members, and to document work accurately.
- Previous automotive reconditioning, body shop, or detailing experience is preferred; training may be provided for motivated candidates.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to move vehicles safely around the lot.
