For 37 consecutive years, we’ve been Australia’s leading truck brand, built on a foundation of reliability, innovation, and a workplace culture that consistently ranks among the best for employee engagement. Our leadership in the market is backed by decades of experience, a strong national network, and exceptional service support.

Our product range spans light to heavy duty trucks, featuring advanced engine technology and comprehensive safety systems. We proudly market, distribute, and support Isuzu Trucks and Isuzu Power Solutions across Australia.

Due to an internal promotion, we're looking for an experienced Vehicle Operations & Shipping Controller to join our Supply Chain team. This position will play a critical role in managing vehicle operations, import shipping, and Port of Entry Agent (POEA) performance, and ensure our vehicles are processed efficiently and delivered on time.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Truck Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing vehicle pre-sale operations across Victoria while coordinating national vehicle import shipping activities. You'll work closely with internal teams, Port of Entry Agents, shipping providers, customs agents, and dealerships to ensure vehicles move through the supply chain safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This role combines operational control, supplier management, reporting, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement in a busy and successful automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily vehicle production and transport activities at the Victorian Port of Entry Agent (POEA).
  • Develop, monitor and adjust monthly vehicle build plans to meet operational targets.
  • Monitor supplier performance, identify improvement opportunities and drive service level outcomes.
  • Coordinate vehicle import shipping activities, working closely with shipping lines, customs brokers, quarantine agencies and POEA partners.
  • Manage vehicle refurbishment, damage repairs and inventory rotation to minimise aged stock.
  • Coordinate critical suppliers, including body builders and transport providers, to ensure delivery timelines are achieved.
  • Produce operational reports and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and dealers.
  • Conduct regular POEA audits and site visits to ensure compliance.
  • Review and approve supplier invoices, maintain purchase orders and assist with budget management.

About You

You are a highly organised professional who enjoys coordinating multiple priorities while building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

We are open to industry experience so you might come from automotive, but experience in a similar industry such as machinery, businesses with a dealer network or working with an OEM would be suitable.

You will also bring:

  • Experience within automotive operations, vehicle logistics or supply chain.
  • An understanding of vehicle processing and transport operations.
  • Experience coordinating external service providers and contractors.
  • Knowledge of vehicle imports, shipping, customs or logistics processes.
  • Strong planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
