We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Duty Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide variety of commercial trailers to ensure they meet safety standards and remain road-ready. Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other commercial trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance, including brake inspections, wheel-end service, suspension repairs, lighting, and electrical system diagnostics
- Repair or replace trailer components such as axles, landing gear, doors, floors, roofs, air systems, and liftgates
- Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs as needed
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet all safety and compliance standards
- Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work closely with fleet managers and service personnel to minimize equipment downtime
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a trailer mechanic, diesel technician, or heavy-duty equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of commercial trailer systems, including air brakes, suspension, electrical, and lighting systems
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Experience performing DOT inspections is a plus
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and hand tools safely and effectively
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus
- ASE or trailer manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a physically demanding shop environment

Pay: $65,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
