ROLE SUMMARY
As part of MG's After-Sales Technical Academy, the Technical Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality technical training programs for dealer networks, service technicians, and internal teams. The role requires a hands-on automotive professional with solid workshop experience, capable of translating field expertise into impactful learning experiences that elevate technician performance across MG's network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Training Delivery
- Plan, develop, and deliver technical training sessions (classroom, e-learning, on-the-job) covering MG vehicle systems: powertrain, EV/PHEV technology, ADAS, diagnostics, bodywork, and electrical systems.
- Conduct new model launch training to ensure dealer technicians are fully prepared ahead of vehicle introductions.
- Develop and continuously update training materials: presentations, workshop guides, diagnostic scenarios, and e-learning modules.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback, and adjust content accordingly.
- Maintain and manage training equipment, workshop tools, and demo vehicles used in training sessions.
- Certify technicians in line with MG's competency framework and track progress across the dealer network.
Knowledge Management & Reporting
- Produce technical bulletins, troubleshooting guides, and best-practice documents for the dealer network.
- Monitor and report on technician certification levels, training attendance, and performance KPIs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of MG's technical training curriculum in coordination with the OEM.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Education & Qualifications
- Degree or vocational qualification as Automotive Technician , Electromechanics, or a related technical field.
- Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent pedagogical training is a plus.
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on workshop experience as a technician or diagnostic specialist, ideally on Asian or Chinese-brand vehicles.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in technical training delivery (classroom, workshop, or e-learning formats).
- Experience with EV/PHEV/BEV technologies is highly desirable given MG's product portfolio.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of vehicle diagnostic tools (OBD, oscilloscope, MG diagnostic software).
- In-depth knowledge of modern vehicle architectures: electrical/electronic systems, ADAS, connected features.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in developing training content using PowerPoint, e-learning platforms or LMS tools.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Fluent — Mandatory
All OEM documentation, training materials, and technical communications with MG headquarters are in English.
Arabic / French Proficient — Required
Training delivery to Moroccan dealer networks and internal reporting.
