Role Overview

The Technical Specialist will be responsible for supporting the dealer network by providing expert diagnostic assistance, ensuring rapid vehicle repairs, and minimizing customer downtime through continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires an in-depth understanding of automotive systems, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and the expertise to implement preventative maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring dealerships maintain high service standards and deliver exceptional aftersales support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealer Network Technical Support: Provide on-demand assistance to dealers for vehicle diagnostics and repairs, ensuring quick resolution of technical issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Diagnose complex vehicle faults, guide technicians through corrective procedures, and escalate unresolved issues efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to reduce repair turnaround times and enhance service quality.
  • Preventative Maintenance Strategy: Identify common failure patterns and work with dealers to introduce preventive measures, improving vehicle reliability.
  • Technical Training & Knowledge Transfer: Conduct workshops, webinars, and hands-on training coaching for dealership service teams to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Service Quality Audits: Assess dealer workshop efficiency, ensuring compliance with brand standards and technical best practices.
  • Warranty & Technical Support Coordination: Assist dealers with warranty claims, ensuring proper procedures are followed and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Reporting & Insights: Maintain structured reporting on repair trends, failure rates, and technical performance, providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaboration with Engineering & Product Teams: Provide feedback to OEM technical teams to help refine vehicle design and improve future reliability.
  • Aftersales Training Curriculum Development, Designing Technical and Non-technical training courses, practical and e-learning
  • Technical Training Assessment & Certification: 90% of the dealer technician network has completed mandatory certification levels.
  • Training Facility and E-learning Administration, Administering and managing the training facility and LMS tracking completion rates
  • SST Dealer Compliance, Results of workshop audits checking for the presence and calibration of Special Tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Automotive technical qualification and Electric vehicle qualification (preferred).
  • Experience in vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and technical training within a dealership or OEM environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with expertise in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic faults.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, OEM systems, and service documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of guiding technicians and explaining technical solutions effectively.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify patterns and develop proactive solutions.
  • Ability to work across departments, ensuring alignment between dealers, aftersales teams, sales and the product managers.
