⚙️ About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager – Body Shop Department to lead technical operations, engineering improvements, equipment reliability, and process optimization within Body Shop production.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automotive body shop processes, welding technologies, robotics systems, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement within high-volume automotive manufacturing environments.
✅ Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 5 years in managerial or technical leadership roles within Body Shop
- Strong knowledge of body shop production processes including spot welding, MIG welding, hemming, framing, and assembly systems
- Experienced in robotic systems such as ABB, Fanuc, or Kuka
- Strong understanding of PLC systems, welding parameters, jigs & fixtures, and automation troubleshooting
- Familiar with preventive maintenance systems, equipment improvement, and downtime analysis
- Strong understanding of production KPI, quality systems, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Good leadership, analytical thinking, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Fluent in English both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, reporting systems, and manufacturing data analysis
- Willing to work in manufacturing environment and support operational requirements
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage technical activities within the Body Shop department to ensure stable and efficient production operations
- Oversee welding processes, robotic systems, tooling, jigs & fixtures, and automation performance
- Coordinate troubleshooting activities related to production equipment, welding defects, and process abnormalities
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance improvement strategies together with Maintenance team
- Analyze production downtime, equipment efficiency, and process capability to drive operational improvements
- Support new model preparation, equipment installation, process validation, and production trials
- Monitor and improve production KPI including OEE, productivity, FTQ, downtime, and efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing projects
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and PE teams to ensure smooth production flow
- Prepare technical reports, KPI analysis, and management presentations related to Body Shop operations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, manufacturing standards, and company procedures
- Perform additional duties assigned by management
