About the role:

This position focuses on the validation of automotive electronic systems through manual and automated testing activities. You will work closely with international project teams, develop test cases and automation scripts, and contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of cutting-edge automotive products.

Main Responsibilities:

Typical daily work includes:

  • Meeting with project team to understand the scope of projects;
  • Hands-on experience with quality assurance and system-level testing;
  • Study of general system specifications and of specific requirements;
  • Working on multiple projects at one time;
  • Writing test-cases to cover system requirements;
  • Designing tests to mitigate risk;
  • Strong ability to create scripts for automatic testing;
  • Developing and assembling the test-bench;
  • Executing test-cases, manually and/or automatically;
  • Writing detailed bug reports for internal project team;
  • Writing detailed test reports and clear validation documentation for the customer;
  • Working towards departmental and project deadlines;
  • Providing objective feedback to software development project teams;
  • Travelling to different project sites;
  • Working with project teams located worldwide.

System Validation Engineer will work with the following tools and technologies:

  • TestLink (for test-case development, test-case execution tracking, test-report generation);
  • Redmine (for tracking assigned activities);
  • Vector tools (CANoe, VN, VH, VT System);
  • C and CAPL languages.

Who we are looking for:

  • Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years working experience in similar position;
  • Strong knowledge of CAN (ISO 11898 document) and LIN protocols;
  • Strong knowledge of UDS specifications (ISO 14229 document);
  • Good understanding of ASPICE SYS.5 – System Qualification Test;
  • Ability to quickly read and understand automotive specifications of different kinds of electronic products;
  • Ability to write clear and detailed reports of the tests performed;
  • Ability to write clear test-cases to fully cover the detection of SW/HW/system weaknesses, starting from product specifications;
  • Proven experience in using Vector devices (CANcase, CANstress, VT System etc);
  • Strong ability to create scripts for automatic testing in Vector environment (CANoe, VT System);
  • Ability to use various laboratory instruments: oscilloscopes, multimeters, programmable power supplies, active electrical loads, etc;
  • Basic knowledge of National Instrument devices and LabVIEW environment;
  • Basic ability to solder electronic components on PCBs and to assemble simple electronic circuits;
  • Basic ability to connect electronic circuits with measurement systems and with system under test to mount a suitable test-bench for test-case execution;
  • Pro-activeness in solving blocking problems;
  • Positive attitude when facing organizational issues or lack of information;
  • Result-driven behavior;
  • The ability to work in a team and individually;
  • The ability to work under pressure and towards tight deadlines;
  • Fluent English language, spoken and written, Italian is a plus;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders.
