As a Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to keep our operations running smoothly. Your mechanical expertise will directly contribute to safety, efficiency, and productivity across various sectors including construction, agriculture, and transportation.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems using schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, steering components, and other mechanical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to assemble, repair, or modify machinery parts.
- Maintain detailed service records and complete inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and warranty requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as tire service, fluid changes, alignment checks, and equipment lubrication to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including automotive electrical repairs and HVAC components for various vehicle types.
- Assist in heavy lifting operations using forklifts or crane equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in a dealership or heavy equipment environment with strong familiarity in diesel mechanics and automotive diagnostics.
- Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, excavators, cranes, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including suspension work, wheel alignment, powertrain repairs, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and excavators safely while demonstrating mechanical knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Experience with welding techniques like soldering or arc welding is preferred for fabrication tasks.
- Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.

Pay: $27.83 – $30.97 per hour
