Whale Maritime Spain is expanding its operations and is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Ship Chandler / Logistics Operator to join our team in Spain.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in ship supply operations and vessel logistics, who enjoys working in a fast-paced maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute ship supply deliveries to vessels
- Source and purchase ship stores, provisions, spare parts, and technical items locally
- Organize and manage logistics for deliveries onboard vessels
- Coordinate with shipping agents, port terminals, customs, and local suppliers
- Handle import and clearance of goods when required
- Manage and maintain warehouse operations and stock
- Prepare deliveries and ensure timely and accurate onboard supply
- Ensure compliance with port regulations, safety standards and documentation requirements
- Support day-to-day operational activities within the ship supply business
Ship chandlers play critical role in ensuring vessels receive the supplies and equipment they need quickly while in port, often within tight turnaround times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in ship chandling or ship supply operations
- Experience delivering supplies to vessels
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Forklift certification required
- Valid driver’s license / truck license
- Experience working with port logistics, warehouses, and vessel deliveries
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and operational maritime environment
- Self-driven, proactive, and energetic personality
- Flexible and willing to work outside normal hours when vessel schedules require it
