Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service requests to facilitate effective repairs.
- Prepare detailed estimates using estimating software, including auto estimating and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Recommend additional services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension work, or transmission repairs to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership profitability through upselling.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and communicate updates clearly to customers.
- Manage parts inventory by advising on parts availability, ordering necessary components, and ensuring timely delivery for repairs.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all service and parts sales.
- Foster strong client relationships through transparent communication about vehicle status, repair options, and service recommendations.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, or automotive service management within a dealership or similar environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, shocks & struts, alignment, suspension components, and more.
- Skilled in auto estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to generate accurate repair costs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to upsell effectively by identifying additional services that meet customer needs while enhancing dealership revenue.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with automotive repair procedures such as oil changes or tire services is beneficial.
- Knowledge of dealership operations including cash handling and automobile sales processes enhances your effectiveness in this role.
