Senior RF Design Engineer – Automotive Tier 1 Supplier
Job Location: Novi, Michigan (Hybrid/Flexible Schedule)
A global Tier 1 automotive supplier specializing in advanced vehicle connectivity, antenna systems, and RF technologies is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to join its RF Engineering Team.
This organization works directly with leading automotive OEMs to develop next-generation vehicle communication systems supporting connected, autonomous, and smart mobility technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop advanced automotive RF and antenna systems for future vehicle applications
• Support product development activities including AM/FM, GNSS/GPS, Cellular, SDARS, V2X, and keyless entry systems
• Perform RF simulations, prototype development, testing, and validation activities
• Design RF circuits, amplifiers, PCB layouts, and antenna systems
• Conduct RF bench, range, and vehicle-level testing
• Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Lead technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support APQP, DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM management, and engineering release activities
• Mentor junior RF engineers and contribute to technical leadership within the team
Qualifications:
• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5-10 years of automotive RF/antenna engineering experience
• Strong experience with RF simulation and antenna development tools such as CST, HFSS, or similar
• Background in RF circuit design, PCB layout, and amplifier development
• Experience developing and testing automotive antenna systems
• Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, and automotive product development processes
• Strong communication and customer-facing technical leadership skills
