SUMMARY:
A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and manage the engineering function within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
POSITION INFO:
Non-Negotiable Industry Experience:
Candidates MUST have solid experience in:
- Metal Manufacturing
- Stamping
- Automotive Manufacturing
Candidates without this experience will unfortunately not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering, project, and maintenance teams
- Drive process optimisation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency
- Oversee engineering projects, equipment installations, and production line upgrades
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies
- Support tooling, automation, robotics, and process control systems
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, and customer requirements
- Manage budgets, reporting, KPIs, and departmental performance
- Drive new product introduction (NPI) and RFQ processes
- Liaise with customers and suppliers to improve manufacturing processes
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years Engineering Management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Strong project management and process improvement experience
- Experience within metal manufacturing and stamping environments is essential
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Advantageous:
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma certification
- CAD and ERP/MES systems knowledge
- Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, VDA6.3
- Strong understanding of tooling and production processes
