JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Planning Specialist is primarily responsible for developing and managing the sales plan through robust forecasting, incorporating market trends, economic indicators, competitive activities, dealer capability, and planned business programs.
The role ensures alignment of sales targets with both local market realities and the requirements of the Nissan Regional Office overseeing the ASEAN market, including preparation of regional reports and submissions.
He/She provides analysis and insights to support management decision-making and ensures alignment across stakeholders. The role also supports production ordering to ensure supply is aligned with the approved sales plan and overall inventory strategy of NPI and dealers.
JOB FUNCTION:
Sales Planning & Forecasting: Develops and manages sales forecasts and plans considering:
- Market trends and industry outlook
- Macroeconomic conditions
- Competitor actions and positioning
- Dealer capability and performance
- Planned sales programs and initiatives
- Ensures alignment of local sales plan with Nissan Regional Office requirements
- Prepares and consolidates regional reports and submissions, including sales plan proposals, performance vs plan, forecast accuracy, key risks and opportunities and other related reports
- Coordinates with Sales Area Management, Marketing, and Finance to validate assumptions and improve forecast accuracy
- Provides data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decisions
Production Ordering: Supports production ordering activities based on the finalized and approved sales plan
- Assists in preparation and validation of order volume, variant mix, and color mix
- Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure alignment with supply constraints and timelines
- Monitors order realization and provides feedback to improve future planning accuracy
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field
- Advanced training or certification in Data Analytics, Forecasting, or Supply Chain Management is an advantage
- Experience
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in:
- Sales planning
- Demand forecasting
- Business analytics or commercial planning
- Experience in the automotive industry or similar demand-driven industries is preferred
- Exposure to regional reporting / multinational coordination (e.g., ASEAN or regional office alignment) is an advantage
- Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain

Digital & Tools Proficiency
Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (pivot, forecasting models, dashboards)
- PowerPoint (executive presentations)
- Experience in SAP, Power BI and similar tools is an advantage
Physical requirements
- Amenable to occasional domestic and overseas travel within Southeast Asia and Japan, as required.
