Growing Groves is partnering with an automotive bearing manufacturing OEM to find an Automotive Components Sales and Engineering Manager for their team. This is a role for a versatile leader who thrives on expanding business with new OEMs and Tier suppliers while managing a cross-functional team of sales and engineering professionals.
Experience in commoditized automotive parts is required.
Bearing specific experience is preferred, but not required.
Company and Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced manager to serve as a liaison between their customers, our sales staff, and our engineers. This person will be a key leader in creating business strategies, conducting commercial negotiations, and coordinating sales and engineering efforts.
Reports to: General Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand sales with existing customers and develop new business by matching automotive technology with customer applications.
- Manage both Sales and Engineering teams, developing their skills and conducting weekly face-to-face program meetings.
- Coordinate with manufacturing plants and other regions to support activities, including prototype and production parts delivery.
- Analyze budgets, gather forecast information, and create mid-term business plans with the General Manager.
- Conduct commercial negotiations, submit quotes, and track programs accurately without delays.
- Maintain monthly sales projections and analyze market trends and competitor product strategies.
Position Requirements
- A degree or diploma in engineering and/or business.
- 7+ years of experience in customer facing technical sales and/or engineering
- Experience in the Automotive industry selling into both OEMs, Tier I, and Tier II
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Proficiency in MS Office software, especially MS PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including visits to customer purchasing/engineering contacts and occasional overseas audits.
Employee Compensation and Benefits
This position offers a salary up to $150,000 based on experience.
