Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sales Consultant role based in Knaresborough. The Sales Consultant will greet and engage customers in the showroom, understand their needs, and recommend suitable furniture and accessories that align with their style, budget, an
d space.
Responsibilities include demonstrating product features, explaining materials and care, preparing accurate quotations, and processing sales transactions. The role also involves maintaining a well-presented showroom, updating product knowledge, coordinating with the delivery and customer service teams, and following up with customers to support a positive post-sale experience. The Sales Consultant will work to achieve individual and store sales targets while upholding Barker and Stonehouse’s standards of service.

Qualifications
- Strong sales-focused abilities, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Customer-centric mindset, Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction in every interaction.
- Clear and confident Communication skills, both in person and over the phone or email.
- Previous experience in retail, furniture, interiors, or a similar consultative sales environment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to understand customer needs, interpret floor plans or room layouts, and suggest appropriate product combinations.
- Comfort using point-of-sale systems and basic digital tools to manage orders and customer records.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and peak trading periods.
- Team-oriented approach, with willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive store environment.
