A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Director to drive profitable revenue growth across a defined territory. This role is responsible for developing and executing regional sales and marketing strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives. The successful candidate will cultivate new business opportunities, strengthen existing customer partnerships, negotiate commercial agreements, and lead a regional sales team.

This individual will collaborate cross-functionally and across regions to ensure coordinated customer engagement and sustained, profitable expansion.

The Regional Sales Director will:

  • Develop and execute a regional growth strategy aligned with corporate revenue and profitability targets, supporting both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at all levels within customer organizations, influencing stakeholders across engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and executive leadership.
  • Understand customer strategies, decision-making processes, and organizational culture to successfully secure new business opportunities.
  • Leverage internal expertise and market intelligence to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities within the region.
  • Collaborate with global account managers and cross-regional sales leaders to deliver integrated solutions that best serve customer needs.
  • Lead responses to customer RFQs, optimizing profitable growth while balancing value proposition, technical feasibility, and cost considerations.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in alignment with corporate revenue management strategies, emphasizing value-based selling.
  • Lead and develop the regional sales and marketing team, strengthening overall organizational selling capabilities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including executive leadership, to drive sound business decisions through influence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to regional Annual Business Plans and Mid-Term strategic plans.
  • Provide consistent reporting to senior leadership regarding performance, risks, and growth opportunities.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline. An MBA is preferred.
  • 15+ years of sales experience in the automotive or industrial manufacturing markets.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role working within an international environment.
  • Proven track record of building sales and driving market growth through organic and targeted acquisitive growth.
  • Effective negotiation and analytical business selling skills, including experience in prospecting, quoting, closing profitable new businesses, and negotiating large contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Knowledge of new product development and new technology introduction processes, multiple product launches/start-ups of technically complex components, and customer quality (PPAP) programs.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to visit prospective and current customers and multiple international manufacturing locations as needed

  • Demonstrated success in complex negotiations, particularly value-based pricing discussions.

  • Ability to prepare and deliver clear, compelling executive-level presentations that distill complex topics into actionable insights.
  • High level of discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
