The Opportunity
Our client, a Hong Kong-listed market leader in the plastics material industry, is seeking a seasoned Regional Sales Director to drive their China market expansion. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Leadership – Formulate and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the engineering plastics portfolio across mainland China, aligning with corporate growth targets.
- Team Development & Mentorship – Lead, coach, and scale a regional sales force, elevating their technical selling capabilities and performance standards.
- Market & Performance Analytics – Track key sales metrics, analyze market intelligence, and present actionable insights and forecasts to senior management.
- Cross-functional Execution – Collaborate closely with production, R&D, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of product development and go-to-market plans.
- Budget & Resource Optimization – Oversee regional sales budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to maximize ROI and achieve sustainable growth.
Key Requirements
- Proven Sales Leadership – Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in sales and business development within the engineering plastics, synthetic polymers, or advanced materials sector, with a demonstrated track record of leading and growing a team.
- Deep Industry Acumen – Hands-on experience working alongside production and R&D functions, with the ability to translate technical product features into compelling customer value propositions.
- Strategic & Operational Agility – Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels, from long-term market planning to day-to-day sales execution.
- Superior Communication Skills – Exceptional proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken), essential for engaging with internal stakeholders and external clients across Greater China.
- Leadership Mindset – A confident, detail-oriented, and collaborative leader who thrives on developing talent and driving results through teamwork.
- Travel Flexibility – Willing and able to travel frequently to mainland China to support key clients and regional teams.
