W.E. Hoban Company is looking for a Quality Manager to join our team!
The Quality Manager will be based in Green Bay, WI and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and managing the day-to-day Quality Department activities. Their goal is to ensure customer expectations are exceeded through delivery of high-quality products. In addition, the Quality Manager will be responsible for implementing, leading, managing, and successfully executing all aspects of the company’s Quality Management System including ISO and IATF certifications ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous readiness for external audits, with a focus on standardizing procedures between different facilities where applicable. In addition, this role will take the lead in identifying, learning, and implementing new certifications as needed to support and advance the company’s broader sales strategy. The Quality Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to align certification efforts with strategic growth initiatives and evolving customer requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with plant operations in the areas of quality program management, inspection coordination, and testing requirements to develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System.
- Manage the development, modification, and maintenance of all quality evaluation and control systems in areas of product responsibility. Must keep in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and government regulations.
- Develop, manage, and implement inspection methods, equipment and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Manage the auditing process of quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensure that corrective action plans are established and executed in a timely manner. Also, must meet acceptable reliability standards and ensure that documentation is compliant with all customer specifications.
- Manage the development of sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable process improvements. Reports to management the status of quality assurance programs and practices.
- Manage up front quality planning for new products to ensure appropriate quality systems and processes required to support the introduction are developed and implemented.
- Manage the development, implementation, and overseeing of compliance of site-required agency certifications related to product and process quality of IATF 16949.
- Represent the company on all third party, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Generate and maintain applicable quality system documentation.
- Ensure conformity of initial and ongoing validations performed in support of the QMS.
- Organize and facilitates Management Review Meetings.
- Ensure on going corrective action leadership and continuous improvement for administration of internal and external audits.
- Complete training as required for QMS.
- Collect and analyze data to find opportunities to increase profits and prevent waste.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and company priorities.
- Oversee daily workflows by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and optimizing the use of resources to meet production or departmental objectives.
- Support employees by offering coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition of strong performance.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to promote employee development, address concerns, and encourage career growth.
- Identify training needs and partner with Human Resources for ongoing development opportunities.
- Participate in the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and supporting hiring decisions in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Conduct performance evaluations annually and guide employees in setting and achieving SMART goals as applicable.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations and disciplinary matters to ensure consistency with company policies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management based on business needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of quality control, materials, and production processes; familiarity with press, upset, or related forging operations beneficial.
- Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving methodologies and quality tools; able to analyze data, identify issues, and drive effective solutions.
- Experience working within a Quality Management System; eQMS preferred.
- Analytical and data-driven decision-maker with strong abstract reasoning skills.
- Proactive, future-focused, and able to anticipate needs to support continuous improvement and customer responsiveness.
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years of quality management experience
- 3+ years of quality auditing experience
- Exceptional knowledge of QMS documentation; ISO9001 and IATF 16949 experience required (or equivalent)
- Experience successfully supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring a team
- Excellent computer skills to effectively generate reports, input required data or present information
- Continuous Improvement / Kaizen training a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Training (Green Belt / Black Belt) preferred
- Background in forging or related manufacturing work environment

- Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
