The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and directing all quality-related activities across the organization. This role ensures that products and processes meet established standards of quality, reliability, and safety while maintaining compliance with industry regulations, including IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015. The QA Manager provides strategic leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and supports operational excellence throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management & Compliance
- Direct and oversee all quality assurance activities within the organization.
- Establish and maintain procedures to uphold high standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including performance monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external parties on all quality system matters.
- Must be the Lead person to address Quality issues at the Customer Location.
- In charge of sorting, verifying and reworking in person at the Customer Location when required
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
- Lead company-wide quality improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and develop improved techniques for quality control, reliability, and safety.
- Provide senior-level quality leadership and guidance to plant operations.
- Review and assess the effectiveness and suitability of the quality system for ongoing improvement.
Reporting & Metrics
- Collect, analyze, and report key quality metrics, including:
- Cost of Quality
- Parts Per Million (PPM)
- Customer complaints
- Supplier performance and delivery
- Ensure achievement of established quality standards, goals, and targets.
- Prepare and oversee quality-related documentation and reports such as APQP, PPAP, Design of Experiments (DOE), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and part certification programs.
Health & Safety
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and team safety talks.
- Integrate safety performance into employee evaluations and appraisals.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop quality team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations, including safety performance assessments.
- Ensure proper training of staff in job functions and health & safety responsibilities.
Business Continuity
- Coordinate and verify the effectiveness of the company’s Business Resumption Plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience in quality assurance within manufacturing, preferably automotive or tooling.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
