As SAN Automotive continues to grow, we are looking for a capable Purchase Executive who can manage vendor coordination, material procurement, cost control, purchase documentation, supplier follow-ups, and timely availability of material for production.

Position Overview

The Purchase Executive will be responsible for handling purchase activities for raw material, bought-out items, consumables, tooling-related items, fabrication requirements, job work, and general plant purchases.

The ideal candidate should have experience in procurement within an automotive component, sheet metal, fabrication, or manufacturing environment and should be capable of negotiating with vendors, maintaining purchase records, and ensuring timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Purchase and Procurement Management

  • Handle purchase activities for raw material, consumables, tools, dies-related items, maintenance items, fabrication items, and general plant requirements.
  • Collect purchase requirements from departments and process them as per priority.
  • Prepare purchase orders and coordinate approvals.
  • Ensure material availability as per production and dispatch requirements.
  • Maintain proper purchase planning and follow-up discipline.
  • 2. Vendor Development and Coordination

    • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
    • Coordinate with vendors for quotations, negotiation, delivery timelines, quality issues, and payment follow-ups.
    • Maintain vendor database, price records, and supplier performance reports.
    • Develop alternate vendors wherever required.
    • Build strong supplier relationships while maintaining cost and quality control.
  • 3. Cost Negotiation and Commercial Control

    • Compare quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery terms.
    • Support cost-saving initiatives in purchase.
    • Track price trends for key materials and consumables.
    • Ensure purchases are done at competitive rates without compromising quality.
    • Coordinate with accounts for bills, payment status, and vendor reconciliation.
  • 4. Material Follow-Up and Coordination

    • Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
    • Coordinate with stores, production, quality, maintenance, and accounts teams.
    • Ensure urgent requirements are handled efficiently.
    • Track pending purchase orders and update management on delays.
    • Coordinate for material rejection, replacement, and return where required.
  • 5. Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintain purchase orders, quotations, vendor records, material receipts, bills, and purchase files.
    • Prepare purchase MIS reports, pending PO reports, vendor performance reports, and cost comparison sheets.
    • Maintain proper records for audits and internal reviews.
    • Ensure purchase documentation is accurate and updated.
  • 6. Quality and Compliance Coordination

    • Coordinate with quality team for vendor quality issues.
    • Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications.
    • Support supplier corrective actions where required.
    • Maintain vendor documentation and compliance records.
    • Coordinate with stores for GRN, material receipt, and inventory records.
  • Qualifications and Requirements

    • Graduate / Diploma / Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
    • 8–10 years of experience in purchase or procurement.
    • Experience in automotive component, sheet metal, fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing industry preferred.
    • Strong vendor coordination and negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of raw material, consumables, bought-out items, tools, maintenance items, and plant purchase.
    • Good communication skills in Hindi and English.
    • Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, email, and purchase documentation.
    • Ability to work with production, stores, quality, accounts, and senior management.
  • Preferred Skills

    • Experience in sheet metal raw material purchase and industrial procurement.
    • Strong vendor network in automotive, fabrication, tooling, and manufacturing items.
    • Ability to compare quotations and negotiate commercial terms.
    • Knowledge of purchase order systems, GRN, vendor bills, and inventory coordination.
    • Strong Excel skills for purchase MIS and cost comparison.
    • Ability to handle urgent requirements and supplier follow-ups.
