Production Shift Leader
📍 Malaysia | MNC Manufacturing
Salary: MYR 4,000 – MYR 5,500 per month
We are currently hiring an experienced Production Shift Leader for a well-established manufacturing facility in the packaging sector. This role is responsible for leading shift operations, supervising production teams, and ensuring output, quality, safety, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Operations
- Supervise daily shift production to meet output, quality, and schedule targets
- Ensure proper machine setup and smooth operations with minimal downtime
- Monitor material usage and reduce waste through efficient workflow control
2, Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of ~16 technicians, operators, and material handler
- Conduct daily shift briefings and communicate production goals and updates
- Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to improve team capability
3. Quality & Safety
- Ensure products meet required quality standards through regular checks
- Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations (DOSH)
- Report and investigate safety incidents or hazards
4. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with production planners to execute shift schedules
- Provide real-time updates on production progress and any delays
- Coordinate with inventory/material teams to ensure smooth material flow
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes
- Support implementation of lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, etc.)
6. Reporting
- Maintain accurate production records (output, downtime, waste, incidents)
- Submit end-of-shift reports to management
Requirements:
- Diploma / Technical certification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- 3 – 4 years manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/shift leader role
- Experience in kraft paper conversion, corrugated box, carton packaging, or similar industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of production machinery and troubleshooting
- Familiar with lean manufacturing tools (5S, process improvement, etc.)
- SAP/ERP experience is an advantage
- Strong leadership and communication skills (English & Malay)
- Willing to work rotating shifts (8.30am–8.30pm / 8.30pm–8.30am), including Saturdays
