Role Description
The Production Manager will lead all manufacturing operations at TBP's facility in Hung Yen, with full ownership of the production floor across the foundry (hot side) and machining (precision side). This is a senior-level role, responsible for daily output, yield, cost, safety, and the people who run the floor. The Production Manager owns shift leaders, area supervisors, team leaders, and the entire production workforce across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily production operations across all areas: melting, sand molding, pouring, shakeout, shotblasting, CNC machining, drilling, balancing, painting, and packaging
- Manage shift leaders and area supervisors across multi-shift operations to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly output targets
- Own production KPIs, including throughput, OEE, scrap rate, first-pass yield, on-time delivery, and unit cost
- Partner with the Quality Manager to drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for in-process and finished-product defects
- Coordinate with Maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and minimize unplanned downtime, particularly on induction furnaces, molding lines, and CNC machines
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and Purchasing on raw material readiness, including pig iron, scrap, alloys, sand, and consumables
- Lead production planning and scheduling against the order book, balancing fleet, OEM, and aftermarket customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing, standard work, and shop-floor problem-solving
- Own production-floor safety and EHS compliance, including hot-work areas, crane and forklift operations, and chemical handling
- Build, develop, and retain the production team, including training, succession planning, and labor relations
Qualifications
- 8+ years of production management experience in automotive parts manufacturing, foundry, or heavy industrial production, with a strong preference for grey cast iron casting or wheel-end component experience
- Hands-on knowledge of foundry operations, including melting (induction furnace), sand molding, pouring, and shakeout, OR precision machining operations, including CNC turning and drilling
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-shift operations with 100+ direct and indirect production workers
- Proven track record of running production at scale — both holding throughput on a steady line and ramping capacity through expansion phases
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, standard work, kaizen, and visual management
- Strong understanding of production KPIs, OEE methodology, and the relationship between process discipline, quality, and cost
- Comfort working closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain peers to resolve cross-functional issues quickly
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, metallurgy, or related field preferred — but factory-floor track record matters more
