The role
As a Product Owner, you will act as the strategic and technical anchor for assigned nodes, managing the full lifecycle of both hardware and software releases. You will bridge the gap between high-level Agile Release Train (ART) objectives and team execution by maintaining a structured backlog and a forward-looking roadmap.
In this role, you will go beyond traditional Product Owner responsibilities, operating as a hands-on Technical Expert. You will support architectural discussions, make informed decisions on complex trade-offs, and ensure the team remains focused by acting as a protective interface.
You will also be the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, documentation alignment, and proactive participation in Program Increment (PI) planning activities.
Responsibilities
As a Product Owner, you will:
- Define and drive product vision with a strong value-oriented mindset
- Translate business needs into clear and actionable technical features
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring proper prioritization
- Make informed decisions regarding feature trade-offs and technical direction
- Write clear, structured, and testable requirements with full traceability
- Act as a bridge between system, business, and engineering stakeholders
- Lead and contribute to Agile ceremonies including PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement
- Maintain strong domain understanding in areas such as BMS, diagnostics, or vehicle features
- Support architectural discussions and provide technical guidance when needed
- Ensure alignment across stakeholders and maintain smooth information flow
Required qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in the automotive and/or embedded systems domain
- 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar system-level role
- Strong experience with:
- Requirement breakdown from system level to software and hardware components
- Agile frameworks (SAFe is highly preferred)
- Ownership of customer or system-level features
- Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
