About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to support product planning and market strategy for the Geely Japan market. The role focuses on market analysis, product positioning, pricing strategy, and working with HQ teams to ensure products fit local market needs.

Responsibilities

Market Strategy

• Conduct market research on market size, segmentation, EV trends, regulations, and customer demand.

• Analyze competitors across product positioning, configuration, pricing, sales performance, and channel models.

Product Planning & Pricing

• Plan the initial product lineup and 0–24 month roadmap, including positioning, target customers, and key selling points.

• Analyze competitor pricing and configurations to define price range and margin expectations.

• Work with HQ teams to propose local product adaptations when needed.

Product Lifecycle

• Support product positioning, launch planning, pricing strategy, competitor analysis, and sales training.

• Translate product features into clear messaging for website, social media, product materials, and dealer communication.

Market Monitoring

• Track competitor updates including pricing, promotions, channels, and product changes.

• Provide regular market insights and competitor analysis.

Channel & Regulation

• Support product planning during channel expansion, aligning product launches with network growth.

• Understand local regulations, certification, safety, and EV policies during product planning.

HQ Collaboration

• Represent the regional market in product discussions with HQ.

• Translate local market insights into product requirements and recommendations.

• Work across cultures and communicate insights clearly to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above. Major in Automotive Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or related fields preferred. Overseas experience is a plus.

• 3–5 years’ experience in automotive OEM product planning or market strategy, with involvement in market entry or regional expansion.

• Strong market analysis and pricing skills, including sales forecasting and break-even analysis.

• Experience in product portfolio planning and roadmap development.

• Strong commercial awareness, able to balance market share and profitability.

• Good communication and structured thinking, able to work with HQ in a cross-cultural environment.

• Fluent in Chinese and English, Chinese and Japanese, or English and Japanese.
