PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating and formalising contracts, and ensuring operational excellence through contract performance monitoring. The role supports cost competitiveness, supply security, and sustainability by managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from strategic sourcing to contract implementation and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a procurement environment or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of procurement practices and processes.
- Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking ability.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
- Execute competitive sourcing events aligned with category strategies.
- Translate category strategies into actionable sourcing and procurement plans.
- Analyse market trends and supplier capabilities to identify risks and opportunities.
- Draft, negotiate, and implement supplier contracts in line with business requirements.
- Manage contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and address performance issues.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
- Conduct supplier reviews and support supplier development initiatives.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, governance standards, and processes.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit and compliance requirements.
