ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategic pricing models for Honda Genuine Parts and Accessories to maximize profitability, competitiveness, and market share. The incumbent will conduct detailed pricing analysis, monitor market trends, evaluate competitor pricing strategies, and provide data-driven recommendations that support business objectives while ensuring parts availability and sustainable gross profit margins.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop and maintain parts pricing strategies aligned with company objectives and market conditions
2. Compile and present pricing, profitability, and sales performance reports
3. Perform new model and new parts pricing setup and administration
4. Conduct competitor pricing analysis and benchmarking studies
5. Review pricing effectiveness and sales performance by vehicle model and product category
6. Monitor supplier cost changes, exchange rate impacts, and landed costs
7. Implement approved price changes across all channels and systems
8. Analyse parts sales trends, market demand, and customer purchasing behaviour
9. Support forecasting and inventory planning through market intelligence and data analysis
10. Collaborate with Sales, Aftersales, Inventory Planning, Finance, and Dealer Network stakeholders to optimize pricing decisions
11. Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining market competitiveness
12. Develop pricing tools, dashboards, and reports to support business decision-making
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Certification
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in pricing analysis, commercial analysis, inventory planning, business analytics, or automotive parts operations
- Experience within the automotive, manufacturing, retail, aftermarket, or FMCG sectors will be advantageous
- Proven experience in pricing strategy development and profit margin analysis
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Syspro, or equivalent
- Experience engaging with dealer networks and supplier pricing structures

Pricing Strategy Development
- Develop and implement pricing methodologies and frameworks
- Maintain pricing tools, calculators, and pricing models
- Review pricing structures to maximize profitability and competitiveness
- Ensure alignment with Honda’s strategic objectives
New Model and Parts Pricing Setup
- Create pricing structures for new vehicles, parts, and accessories
- Validate cost and margin calculations
- Coordinate price implementation within applicable systems
Pricing Performance Analysis
- Evaluate pricing effectiveness and profitability by model and product category
- Track pricing performance against budget and business targets
- Prepare management reports and recommendations
Competitor Pricing Analysis
- Conduct regular market and competitor benchmarking studies
- Identify market opportunities, risks, and pricing trends
- Provide recommendations to maintain competitive positioning
Price Change Implementation
- Execute approved pricing updates within company systems
- Manage price file uploads and pricing communications
- Ensure dealer network receives timely pricing updates
Cost Monitoring and Profitability Management
- Monitor supplier cost fluctuations and foreign exchange impacts
- Track gross profit performance and margin trends
- Evaluate opportunities for alternate sourcing and cost optimization
Parts Sales Trend Analysis
- Analyse sales volume, profitability, and demand trends
- Identify high-growth and underperforming product categories
- Support inventory optimization and stock planning activities
Forecasting and Market Intelligence
- Collect market information from dealers, suppliers, and industry sources
- Identify emerging market trends and customer requirements
- Support demand forecasting and business planning processes
Reporting and Business Insights
- Develop dashboards and management reports
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Support strategic business decisions through data-driven insights
