The Role
This position offers the opportunity to lead a fabrication facility within a commercial glazing environment, overseeing daily production, quality control, and workflow efficiency across aluminum curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and entrance systems. The role is focused on ensuring fabrication is completed the first time correctly, improving operational consistency, and reducing rework through strong leadership and process discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily fabrication operations within the shop
- Lead fabrication crews, supervisors, and production staff
- Oversee workflow planning, scheduling, and production output
- Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures
- Reduce fabrication errors, deficiencies, and rework
- Coordinate with Project Management, Drafting, Purchasing, and Installation teams
- Monitor labor performance, productivity, and capacity
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the fabrication process
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards
- Support hiring, training, and performance management of shop personnel
Requirement
- 10+ years of experience in commercial glazing fabrication or a related manufacturing environment
- No previous experience managing or supervising an aluminum fabrication facility
- Strong understanding of curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and entrance system
- Familiarity with systems such as Kawneer, Alumicor, EFCO, Wausau, or similar
- Strong knowledge of fabrication tolerances and quality standards
- Experience implementing quality control processes and improving shop performance
- Strong leadership and communication skills
