Our client is an automotive manufacturing supplier operating in a high‑volume, just‑in‑time (JIT) environment, supporting OEM assembly operations through sequencing and sub‑assembly. The Plant Manager is responsible for leading day‑to‑day plant operations with a strong shop‑floor presence, ensuring safe, stable production while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all plant operations including production, sequencing, warehousing, maintenance, and administrative functions.
- Ensure consistent, stable daily operations in a fast‑paced JIT automotive environment.
- Drive performance using standardized work, visual management, KPI tracking, and structured problem solving.
- Lead continuous improvement and kaizen initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Maintain active floor presence through daily Gemba walks and compliance checks.
- Develop, coach, and hold supervisors and hourly teams accountable to performance expectations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with engineering and maintenance on equipment utilization, reliability, and process improvements.
- Manage operating expenses and maintain budget discipline.
- Coordinate resolution of operational issues and customer concerns.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of manufacturing management experience, or 3+ years in a supervisory role with 8+ years in manufacturing.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier‑1/Tier‑2 supplier environments preferred.
- Proven success leading operations in lean, JIT, high‑volume production settings.
- Hands‑on leader with strong shop‑floor engagement.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel for KPI tracking and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
