Role Description
We are seeking a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Specialist for a full-time, hybrid role based in Gurugram, Haryana, with heavy remote work. The PDI Specialist will oversee and manage the pre-delivery inspection process of vehicles, focusing on quality control, inventory management, and coordination with OEM-authorised dealers and logistics teams. Daily responsibilities include inspecting vehicles for compliance with quality standards, identifying and addressing deficiencies, documenting findings in reports, and maintaining accurate records. Collaboration with dealer networks and customers to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction is also a key aspect of the role.
Strongly Preferred:
- Prior experience at used-car platforms (Spinny, Cars24, OLX Auto, Droom) — these candidates understand inspection-driven trust models
- Experience with PDI checklists or auto inspection workflows
- ITI Automobile or Diploma in Automobile Engineering
- Comfort with car damage classification (panel-level, paint-level, structural)
What You'll Own
1. Pre-Delivery Inspections (Daily)
- Conduct 3-5 PDIs per day across NCR dealerships
- Inspect each car against CarBounty's 100+ point checklist — exterior, interior, mechanical, electronics, paint, panel gaps, fitments
- Capture photos at standardised angles, document any flagged items
- Verify VIN, manufacturing year, engine sound , kilometre reading, and accessory presence against the dealer's stock listing
2. Inspection Reports
- Complete digital PDI reports through CarBounty's mobile inspector app
- Report submitted to the dealer first for a 48-hour review, then to the buyer
- Clear technical descriptions of any flagged items so non-technical buyers can understand
3. Dealer Coordination
- Schedule inspections with dealer service teams across signed dealerships
- Build working relationships with dealer service managers — professional, neutral, never adversarial
- Escalate disputes to the founder when the dealer and buyer cannot agree on findings
4. Quality Standards
- Maintain consistent inspection rigour across all transactions — no rushed inspections, no shortcuts for friendly dealers
- Document edge cases and contribute to refining Car Bounty's PDI SOPs
- Train future PDI team members as we scale (estimated Month 3-4 onward)
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of vehicle inspection protocols, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping tools or software to handle PDI documentation efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for seamless coordination with dealers and logistics teams.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities effectively.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address inspection-related issues promptly.
- Familiarity with the automobile industry and OEM-authorised dealer operations is a distinct advantage.
- Relevant certifications or experience in quality inspection, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or a related area is advantageous.
Not a Fit If:
- Looking for a desk-bound office role
- Uncomfortable with daily field movement
- Lacks technical depth on cars (sales-only background without service exposure)
- Expecting management or supervisory responsibilities at start (those grow into the role over 6-12 months)
Compensation
- Base Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (calibrated to experience)
- Performance Variable: ₹5,000 – ₹15,000 quarterly bonus based on PDI quality KPIs
- Fuel Reimbursement: ₹15/km for verified dealer visits (typically ₹8,000 – ₹12,000/month additional)
- Mobile and data reimbursement
- Founding Team ESOP: Meaningful equity grant with 4-year vesting and 1-year cliff
- Growth Path: As CarBounty scales, this role grows into Lead PDI / PDI Operations Head within 12-18 months as we build the team
Working Conditions
- Office at registered HQ in Sector 16 Industrial Estate, Gurgaon
- Field-heavy: approximately 4 days of inspections across NCR, 1 day office/reporting
- 6-day working culture (Saturdays optional but customary in auto retail)
- Direct reporting line to the Founder
