Position Summary
Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for purchasing, receiving and issuing of shop supplies and tools, parts and related equipment; ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures and perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Essential And Supplemental Functions
SSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to thefunctions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of thejob with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for purchasing, receiving and issuing automotive shop tools, parts and related equipment.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing parts services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
- Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including salvaging all trade-in vehicles or equipment.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all parts purchasing, inventory and issuing activities.
- Participate in the selection of parts staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the assigned budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
- Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
- Maintain fuel ordering/deliveries and three separate fuel stations.
- Maintain accurate record keeping for fuel station inspections daily, monthly and annually.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct special studies of operational methods and requirements regarding parts purchasing and issuance.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or a two (2) year technical certificate in automotive repair or business; and
Four (4) years of automotive repair or parts issuing experience; and
To include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
Additional Requirements
Possession of a valid New Mexico's Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

Environmental
Shop or warehouse environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases.
Physical
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for heavy, moderate or light lifting; walking, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
