Role Description The Parts Department Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nashville, TN. This position oversees the daily operations of the parts department, including ordering, receiving, and organizing service parts for tank trailers. The role involves managing inventory levels, tracking stock, and coordinating with the service team to ensure parts availability for scheduled and emergency repairs. The manager will handle vendor relationships, review pricing, and maintain accurate records in inventory systems. Day-to-day tasks include assisting internal and external customers with parts inquiries, resolving issues, supporting customer satisfaction goals, and implementing process improvements to enhance department efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong inventory-focused skills, including Inventory Control and Inventory Management, with the ability to maintain accurate stock levels and records.
- Customer-oriented skills, such as Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with experience supporting both internal teams and external customers.
- Parts-related expertise, including knowledge of Service Parts and basic understanding of trailer or automotive components.
- Experience in parts department operations, warehouse or distribution environments, or service-based businesses.
- Ability to use inventory management software and basic office applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email).
- Solid organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technicians, vendors, and customers.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience in a parts, service, or operations environment is preferred.
- Understanding of safety practices in an industrial or service facility; willingness to follow company safety policies.
