The NVH Engineer is responsible for the analysis, development, and optimization of vehicle Noise, Vibration, and Harshness performance to ensure compliance with customer expectations, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, measure, and evaluate NVH performance of vehicle systems and components.
- Identify NVH issues related to structure-borne and air-borne noise, vibration sources, and transfer paths.
- Define NVH targets and contribute to vehicle-level NVH requirements.
- Conduct simulations, CAE analysis, and physical testing (vehicle, subsystem, and component level).
- Plan and perform NVH tests such as modal analysis, operational deflection shapes, run-up/coast-down tests, and road tests.
- Support root cause analysis and define corrective actions for NVH issues.
- Collaborate with design, CAE, manufacturing, and validation teams to implement NVH improvements.
- Evaluate supplier designs and components from an NVH perspective.
- Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support vehicle development milestones (prototype, pre-series, series production).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of NVH fundamentals (acoustics, vibrations, dynamics).
- Experience with NVH measurement and analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of automotive systems (powertrain, body, chassis, interiors).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and CAD data.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Technical Skills (Preferred Tools & Methods)
- NVH testing equipment (accelerometers, microphones, data acquisition systems.
- Software tools such as LMS Test.Lab, Catia 3DExperience.
