Job Summary
Accurate Transport is seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment at various job sites. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems of heavy trucks and equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational requirements.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair tasks.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic codes to accurately identify issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Assist with vehicle assembly, equipment repair, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems for farm machinery, industrial equipment, or vehicle fleets.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure compliance with safety standards related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspensions, shocks & struts, and powertrain components.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various outdoor environments or confined spaces.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance apparatus.
- Familiarity with heavy truck repair, including air brake systems and vehicle alignment procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Valid certifications in automotive repair or diesel engine repair preferred; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry advancements.
Traveling to various locations is a must!
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
