One of our manufacturing clients is seeking a skilled Metallurgy Specialist to support product development and material analysis at their facility in Fort Wayne, IN
Pay Rate: $85k – $105k
Shift: Days
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate metallic materials and product performance
- Conduct metallurgical testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations
- Support product development and material selection processes
- Review material specifications, heat treatment processes, and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve product reliability and manufacturability
- Interpret metallurgical data and prepare technical reports and documentation
- Support customer and supplier quality investigations related to material performance
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in metallurgy, materials engineering, or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat treatment, and material properties
- Experience with metallurgical testing methods and failure analysis techniques
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, foundry, forging, or heavy manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with microscopy, hardness testing, and laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, or other material standards
