Job Title:
Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 Pay Rate: £18.11 per hour
Job Summary:
The Mechanical Level 3 Light Vehicle Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of light vehicles to ensure they meet safety, performance, and manufacturer standards. This role requires a qualified technician with strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out both routine servicing and complex repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on light vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals. Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, and steering components. Conduct vehicle inspections and identify any additional work required. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard in line with manufacturer and company guidelines. Complete job cards, service records, and relevant documentation accurately.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Work efficiently to meet productivity targets and deadlines. Skills and
Qualifications:
Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent). Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of modern vehicle systems, including mechanical and electrical components. Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience:
Previous experience working as a vehicle technician in an automotive workshop is required.
Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks. Capability to lift and handle vehicle components safely. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Additional Requirements:
