📝 Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with experience to drive end-to-end mechanical product development—from concept design and CAD modeling to prototype development, validation, and production support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced EV startup environment, collaborating across hardware, electronics, manufacturing, and software teams to build reliable and scalable energy products.
🎯 What You Will Do
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and enclosures for EV battery systems, chargers, and other energy products using CAD tools.
- Own the complete product development lifecycle, including concept generation, design calculations, prototyping, testing, design validation, and production release.
- Build and iterate functional prototypes by working closely with fabrication vendors, machine shops, and internal engineering teams.
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, thermal considerations, and DFMEA to ensure robust product performance.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Electronics, Firmware, and Manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical designs into complete products.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, GD&T documentation, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support validation testing, root cause analysis, and engineering change implementation to improve product reliability and manufacturability.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners for tooling development, component qualification, and production readiness.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), cost optimization, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with emerging materials, manufacturing processes, and EV industry trends to improve product innovation and performance.
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development, preferably in the EV, automotive, battery, electronics, or energy storage industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, NX, or similar 3D modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, machining, injection molding, casting, welding, and fabrication.
- Experience with prototype development, engineering validation, and product industrialization.
- Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, FEA, DFM/DFA principles, and engineering documentation.
- Experience working in cross-functional product development teams within a startup or fast-paced engineering environment is highly preferred.
