Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, experienced Mechanic to join our growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of transportation vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and compliant for daily operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles.
- Check and change engine oil and filters as needed.
- Inspect, repair, and replace brakes, rotors, and brake components.
- Inspect, repair, and replace cooling system components, including coolant fans.
- Inspect, repair, rotate, and replace tires as needed.
- Diagnose and repair engine and transmission issues, including replacement when necessary.
- Inspect and replace lights, electrical components, belts, hoses, batteries, and other miscellaneous parts.
- Perform interior vehicle modifications and repairs as needed for medical transportation equipment and passenger accommodations.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and company standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Previous experience as an automotive or fleet mechanic preferred.
- Experience working on vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, or commercial fleets is a plus.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of gasoline-powered vehicles; diesel experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Qualifications
Previous experience as an automotive or fleet mechanic preferred.
- Experience working on vans, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, or commercial fleets is a plus.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
