Job Summary:
A skilled and reliable Mechanic ensures the optimal performance and safety of our company vehicles and equipment. This multifaceted role involves servicing and repairing a diverse fleet, including company vehicles, heavy equipment, tractor-trailers, and tanker trailers. Accurate record keeping of all maintenance activities and parts costs is essential for this position.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel semis and equipment to find faults
- Analyze test results and repair as needed
- Repair and replace engine, steering, braking and transmission components
- Check and maintain vehicle lighting systems
- Install new tires, batteries, and other components as needed
- Perform routine service maintenance as a preventative action to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles by DOT standards
- Manage and maintain an organized and efficient shop environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is preferred
- 4-5 years in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem solving
- Advanced knowledge of DOT policies and procedures
- Must have own tools
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work outside in all conditions.
Pay: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour
