Pay Rate: $19 – $29 per hour (based on experience) (Mechanic I, Mechanic II and Senior Mechanic
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (overtime and occasional weekends as needed)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic II to work in a prototype vehicle environment. This is a hands‑on role involving the modification, diagnostics, and repair of vehicles that are in development stages. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently or in collaboration with a technical team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and modifications on cars and trucks in a prototype environment
- Follow repair orders, written instructions, and build procedures accurately
- Replace, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components
- Document all work performed, including service records and repair notes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with team‑based projects as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an automotive mechanic
- Solid understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to read and follow service instructions and documentation
- Must provide own tools and rolling toolbox
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate or degree in Automotive Technology
- ASE certifications or State Mechanic Licenses
- Experience with alignments, A/C repairs, tire machines, or vehicle electronics
- Previous work on electric or hybrid vehicles is a plus
