About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Material Planning Manager to join our growing automotive operations team in Barcelona.
This role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material supply to support vehicle production by driving demand planning, material requirement planning (MRP), inventory control, supplier coordination, and supply risk management.
You will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing partners, logistics teams, and headquarters to ensure critical components are delivered on time and production schedules are fully supported.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage material demand plans based on sales forecasts and production requirements
• Convert demand forecasts into material requirements and release orders to suppliers
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and ensure timely material availability
• Manage inventory levels, safety stock settings, and material master data
• Track critical component supply risks and proactively drive issue resolution
• Coordinate shortage recovery plans and support production continuity
• Manage engineering changes, part transitions, and model-year change activities
• Collaborate with subcontracting plants, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders
• Analyze inventory coverage, supply performance, and material planning KPIs
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across material planning and supply operations
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience in:
- Material Planning
- Supply Planning
- Production Planning
- Material Control
- Inventory Planning
✔ Automotive industry experience is highly preferred
✔ Strong understanding of:
- MRP
- Demand Planning
- Inventory Management
- Safety Stock Management
- Supplier Scheduling
✔ Experience working with SAP (MRP module preferred)
✔ Familiarity with automotive production and supplier delivery processes
✔ Strong problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills
